I want to talk to you about alignment. Well, alignment and business strategy and why one doesn’t necessarily work without the other.
If you’ve been reading my blogs, followed me on social media or have watched any of my lives in my Facebook group then you’ll know that I’m not a huge fan of traditional rigid business strategy and I want to tell you why.
It’s not just because I’ve invested heavily and not seen the results that I wanted to see (but yes I have been there so I totally get it if you resonate!). It’s not just because traditional business strategy can be so rigid that it doesn’t take into account our individualities, our unique gifts, skills and perspective but it’s because more often than not the strategy being sold has absolutely zero to do with your personal alignment.
Now stick with me here, I know that alignment is a word that has been bandied around a great deal too but there is something of weight to it.
You see in a world where we are constantly being asked to doubt ourselves, our worthiness, our value, our own knowledge of who it is that we are by media who tell us that we need this new outfit to be beautiful, this new cream to be radiant, this new fad diet to make us feel alive and proud of ourselves – it’s no wonder we fall out of alignment and integrity and into mistrust with ourselves.
We’re being asked to question why or how we can feel good about ourselves without these things and in my world that’s just not cricket.
We – each and every single human on this planet – has the right to be in their own sovereignty, to stay true to what they experience, what they feel, what they intuit but we’re pulled away from that on a moment to moment basis when we’re bombarded by messages. This is amplified when we spend time living and working on social media.
And yes – that IS something that I’ve experienced. Chronic self doubt, lack of confidence, anxiety, worry over whether what I am doing, who I am, what I know is enough. Comparison with someone else just because they made the choice of blatantly putting me down out of their own fear, which triggered my fears.
So I know how crippling to your life, to your business and to your results and income that can be. Lets face it – the whole reason we want a better income or results is so that we can live the life that we desire – the one that we dream of for ourselves and for our families but if there is something getting in our way, pulling us out of alignment with ourselves and creating what it is that we desire then isn’t it right to want to move it?
So lets recap:
- Traditional rigid business strategy doesn’t support alignment.
- Social media (and the majority of other media) pulls us out of alignment.
- Alignment is required for us to feel confident, trust ourselves, cultivate creative energy, support our well being, rest well, heal our bodies and experience the higher range of emotions like joy, fulfilment, accomplishment, pride, gratitude to great depth and regularity.
That is why it’s important for us to find our own alignment instead of being forced into strategy straight away which may or may not work for us. We simply have to face off with the issues that are keeping our frequency, our energy, our results at a lower level if we want to create change – AND THEN apply the strategy to our momentum forward, which by the way gets to be simple and come from a place of ease and flow because by that point were already broken down our resistance to it.
So do you see why and how life gets to be a heck of a lot easier this way? Working from an energetic basis, a quantum basis, means that we get to simplify our working processes, our productivity, our action steps and feel freaking good about them whilst we’re doing it because we’re more confident and in integrity with who we are individually which only serves to create more self trust, more self sufficiency, more confidence and more creativity.
It’s a beautiful thing my friend.
What does it mean to be in alignment?
Being in alignment means being in integrity with your self. It means becoming aware of the essence of your being, your values, what matters to you, what you desire to experience and what you experience on a moment to moment basis. It also means taking responsibility over the fact that on a moment to moment basis you have control over your experience because we have control over our perception.
What that means is knowing who you are and what matters to you and that means getting to know yourself, clearing out any trauma, any perception that takes away from your confidence, your empowerment, your sovereignty and getting back to a space where you can be you, be confident about being you and stand with strength in your own identity and skin. Which I know can sound like a tall hill to climb but believe me can be built up rapidly in just 30 minutes a day.
I know – one of the most common questions can be ‘but I think I already know myself’ but we all have behaviours, habits, perceptions that are on automation and that’s just down to the way we are built and have been conditioned. We learn from experiences from our past but if we consistently stick to living to those frameworks then we’ll always be creating our future based on the same thing – our past not the change that we want.
So what can we do to get into alignment?
Well of course you can work with a coach – I provide my clients with personalised MAP sessions and meditations as well as 1:1 sessions that help them achieve alignment and sovereignty rapidly, powerfully but also gently. What this combination does is work in your subconscious to alleviate you from the things that keep you out of integrity, out of sovereignty and out of alignment so you can feel confident, get clarity, feel more energised and then move ahead with your business strategy to ensure you get the results you desire.
But if you don’t have the resources to work with a coach you can also create a daily practice that will aid you in your own alignment.
I recommend setting aside just 30 minutes a day to do a short guided meditation (a great starter meditation is my morning meditation which you can find here) followed by an intentional journaling session directed specifically at asking yourself questions about where you are, what you want to create, how you feel about things that have happened or just generally getting a feeling of how happy you are about your working process. Once you know where you are, how content you are with how things are going then you’ll also get an indication over where you would like things to change and can work to create that change.
Now the reason the meditation is so important is for a few reasons – it connects you with your higher self – the you that knows that you CAN create the results or lifestyle that you want – taking away the noise of your mind which can be a jungle of thoughts created from everything you’ve consumed (social media, tv, conversations etc.). So it brings you back to being yourself, to being centred in your energy, in your body.
Meditation also gives you a chance to connect with your autonomic nervous system – which means that you can get access to your subconscious, which is where deep and lasting change needs to take place. It’s all very well and good having knowledge intellectually but unless you embody it, unless it becomes a part of your subconscious it just remains as knowledge in your mind, which isn’t what will change your results.
Regarding the journaling – the one thing I do not recommend doing is Dear Diary pages or morning pages. Whilst yes morning pages do have the benefit of getting the noise out of your head and onto the page which is great in some circumstances (for example if you’re suffering from overwhelm, worry or anxiety) it can also work in a negative way for you. Going over any negative thoughts or situations can reinforce those emotions and memories in your mind and body and what we want to work to do is alleviate you of those to get you back to a higher vibrational energy, a more positive emotional state.
So your journaling needs to be intentional. If your goal is to increase your productivity, write 10 questions and answers surrounding how you feel about your productivity right now – whether you enjoy how you work, whether you feel frustrated at the end of your day, whether your to do list is too long, how you would rather be working, what you would rather be spending your time on and so on.
Creating this ritual on a daily basis means you become more integrity with yourself, your direction, your goals, your higher self and get to move into your day from an empowered, aligned place. It also moves you further into self confidence, clarity and towards your goals on a slow and steady basis instead of erratically throwing your best hustle in and exhausting your self and your body.
Remember: your business strategy requires your alignment – to it and to yourself for it to work effectively.
So I’m interested to know – do you feel as though you are in alignment right now? Are you feeling at ease, content and happy with the way you are working and the speed you are creating results that you want in your business or in your life?
If not, give it a go. Cultivating your own alignment doesn’t demand you follow a rigid step by step process, its mean to be for you, to benefit you, to feel good to you so make it your own, alter it, make sure you get what you need out of it for your own growth – spiritual, personal and business. After all, you are CORE to everything in your world and its so so important to take care of that.
