It’s so easy to forget that we are at the core of everything that we do.

Whether it’s our family, our businesses, our relationships, our health – we have control over the factors that influence all of these things, the ability to make choices to create change but we’ve been socialised into a way of being that see’s us turning outside of ourselves to know what it is that is going to be best for us.

And that’s where a great deal of disconnection comes from. In looking externally on a consistent basis we’re training our bodies and our minds to lack in self trust, to grow in self doubt and become further detached from our selves and our abundant nature.

It’s been reported that 91% of women have experienced disconnection or dissatisfaction with their bodies and put life or their dreams on hold until that changes.

This means that our relationships, our sensuality, our sense of belonging and satisfaction, the way we eat and move, our self connection, our self expression and our businesses and results are impacted.

We’ve been taught to live in a way that takes away our own self leadership and sovereignty and as a result we lack confidence, trust, clarity and often end up on the conveyor belt of consumerism or in the rising numbers of depression and anxiety amongst women.

So how do we create change, become more productive, connected, more satisfied, stop sabotaging and actually live the lives that we want to live when a huge amount of this is subconscious?

We cultivate a well being practice.

Lets think about this on practical terms – you’ve spent your life up until this point training your brain (and body) to work in a certain way – if you want to create change it makes sense that you’re going to have to go through a some more training to create a way of being that in effect does the opposite thing – cultivating self trust, confidence, creativity, clarity, productivity and self sufficiency instead.


So what exactly is a well being practice?

It’s funny but when you start focusing on well being you become aware of how it’s currently being determined in wider society – I was in a well known supermarket a few weeks ago and noticed that their well-being section consisted of pain killers, cold remedies, sleep treatments and a range of vitamins and bubble baths.

And I absolutely cringed because our well being is so much more than our basic self care or nutrition. In fact I’m of the opinion that there’s little point treating symptoms when we’re not addressing the root of the problems.

Say for example you’ve been feeling a bit foggy in the head, your thoughts are a bit cloudy, your productivity is low, your energy is low and your immune system is too so you catch little colds regularly or feel generally a bit off or under the weather. Our immediate go to would be a little rest, perhaps some medication and a duvet and Netflix session am I right?

But again that’s only treating the symptoms. If we looked instead at why we’re feeling that way and instead prescribed early nights, drank more water, meditated daily and included some intentional breathing and clarity sessions I’m quite sure all of those symptoms would subside, you’d no longer be feeling rubbish and you’d have more clarity, energy and momentum for your productivity, goals and for your life.

What I’m trying to get to (ok in a long winded way but bear with me!) is that when we take care of our well being we’re able to affect all things –

Confidence, clarity, creativity, self connection, productivity, self sufficiency, sensuality, energy (your vibration / frequency and ability to manifest from the quantum field) and all of these things obviously affect your performance in life, in business, in relationships and therefore your results. So in taking care of this EVERYTHING improves.

Let’s get to the bones of it:


Here are the top 5 things that will cultivate your self trust, confidence, health, energy, productivity and performance:



We completely under estimate the power of sleep. Resting our bodies well on a regular basis helps clear our minds, heal our bodies, relax our nervous systems and regulates our hormones.

Been feeling overwhelmed and over worked but feel like rest is the last thing your mind will let you do very well? It’s what you need the most because these are all symptoms of your nervous system needing a little loving.



You don’t have to be able to run a marathon to be and feel better. Literally just moving your body on a regular basis can again relax your nervous system, regulate your hormones and circulate your blood and energy clearing, connecting and giving you more energy.

If you’ve been feeling stuck its because your energy is stuck and whether that’s manifested for you in terms of not being able to move through a block, feeling sluggish, lacking creativity or inspiration – it’s all energetic – so moving your body means moving all of these frequencies (everything energetic exists as a frequency) around, shaking things up so you can realign.



Meditation gives us a way to both clear and train our minds and connect with our higher selves (you know – the part of you that KNOWS that you are fully capable of achieving your dreams before your ego kicks in and moves you safely back into your comfort zone).

Many people find it hard so start with a guided meditation that focuses your thoughts, your brain and your energy helping you get back into ease, into creativity, into connecting deeply with your power, your confidence, your ability to create and your vision.

Meditation is also one of the best ways to retrain your mind and body into a new way of being or perception as you’re accessing the subconscious via a lower brain wave state so if you currently see yourself as not being confident around something (being visible, public speaking etc.) for example, using a guided meditation or hypnosis can alter your self perception rapidly.

Again something completely under estimated. 60% of the human body is water.

We need water to survive, to cleanse our blood, to help with weight regulation, skin and organ health, to improve and support our immune systems and to regulate our gut health (which also takes care of our happiness hormones).

But we also need water to help us sleep more deeply, think more clearly, give us more energy and therefore get more done – work smart and get the important tasks done and bingo aligned energy goes in, aligned results come out.



So we spend most of our time doing what we’re pre-programmed to do – for me that meant growing up eating three meals a day at certain times of the day, particular foods at those particular times and limitations in other areas. Add into the mix the advice on eating X number of fruit and veg per day, X number of super foods per day, X number of supplements, X amount of water and it’s no wonder we get overwhelmed and have no idea what to really do, eat or take to balance our bodies and get into optimum energy.

That’s where intuitive eating comes in. Really listening to your body and what it’s craving rather than automatically going for the go to food and time for nutrition.

I’ll hold my hands up and say that I am not the expert at intuitive eating but I do use it myself to ask what it is that my body wants and needs to eat (ok apart from the times when I totally listen to my mind and go for the cake instead) because for me its always been a sure fire way to get that pick me up that I’m feeling in need of.

I go into the mind body connection in this post but give it a go – just try asking yourself what you really fancy to eat, whether you’re really hungry at 7.30am when you’re supposed to have breakfast or whether your body wants to fast and eat a bit later and get to know the signals and needs your body sends you.


Cultivating these practices on a daily basis either through out the day or as a part of your morning ritual / routine will help you build self trust, confidence, self care, respect, your productivity, a sense of accomplishment and your mental and physical well being at the same time.
